It’s a subject many of us dreaded in school. It’s a subject many of us would hope to avoid at all costs in our ESL classroom. Why is math making an appearance on BusyTeacher.org? Because, believe it or not, math can be fun! It can even be a useful subject for teaching your students not only the basics of English numbers, but also topics like spelling and shapes - and even more advanced topics like sales and negotiations.
While math probably isn’t an absolute necessity in an ESL classroom, there’s no reason to avoid it. With BusyTeacher.org’s 105 math worksheets, you won’t be diving into any algebra or calculus with your students - just sharing how the English language describes numbers, relations between amounts, different kinds of shapes, and so on. While some of our worksheets do involve actual math problems (Oh no!), most of them are extremely simple to use.
Teaching a class full of elementary-school students? BusyTeacher.org’s 105 math worksheets provide plenty of resources on addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division - all using English vocabulary, of course. Want to challenge your students’ problem-solving skills? We’ve got worksheets on shapes and measurement that’ll inspire your students to combine their latest English vocabulary with their reasoning abilities. We’ve even got worksheets on sales math, for adult students who want to sharpen their business English usage.
Whether you’ve got a class full of kids or a room full of professionals, BusyTeacher.org’s 105 math worksheets offer something for everyone. Some of our worksheets even make use of games like Scrabble and Monopoly, so your students can have fun while brushing up on their English math skills. And since most of our worksheets are filled with colorful shapes and pictures, you won’t have to worry about seeming too dry. Math can be fun, and these worksheets are proof of that!
Why do we say “proof?” Because every one of these worksheets was created by an ESL teacher just like you. Our worldwide community of teachers contributes all the worksheets you see on this site - and they’ve agreed to make all of them available for free, without any registration required. When you see something you like, you’re more than welcome to print it, use it, and share it. The only thing we ask is that if you have a worksheet of your own that you’d like to share, you click the “Submit a worksheet” button at the bottom of this page, and spread the love.
As you browse through the collection of 105 math worksheets here on BusyTeacher.org, you’ll notice that we’ve got some time-saving features set up to make your job easier.
