The song “What If” by Coldplay is great for teaching Conditional Sentences and Modals. It is a listening activity that helps to practice what-if- questions. Do not forget to remind your students that we use this type of questions while asking about the consequences of an action, particularly one that is undesirable. Before you start listening give your students time to fill in the gaps with the right verb tense and predict the modals. The worksheet is better to be used with the adult learners because alongside with the music video it can trigger further discussion in the classroom.
