U.S. School Discipline (High School)
This worksheet is a great way to talk about differences between the U.S. school environment and a foreign school. The students work on their own or with a partner for the warm-up and then discuss what they came up with. Then I have them take turns reading parts and discussing their opinions. Students discuss why the rules are the way they are in the U.S and whether or not they think it's a good thing. I also ask them to compare it to how it is at their school. I usually provide extra information on things like the dress code (i.e. backpacks have to remain in lockers because they might conceal guns).
