Students listen to the song 'Electrical Storm' by U2, completing a gap-fill exercise. Song will most likely need to be replayed at least one extra time. Following this, there are a few questions drawing vocabulary items from the lyrics including a vocab match for some idioms / unusual turns of phrase. This activity could be used as a warm-up to teaching 'weather'. The song is written in quite a poetic style, so could be good for students wanting to become more familiar with creative writing. I am not sure if the 'sound' in the lyric refers to the sense or the body of water, so I am going with the latter and will elicit all the different bodies of water my students can think of.
