First, students read a text about a best friend: what he does and what he doesn't do. Then they classify the underlined verbs in simple present as affirmative or negative and translate their infinitives (the infinitives are already in the chart). After that, they work out the rules of affirmative and negative sentences in simple present with he / she / it. Later they complete a text with similar verbs. Finally, they write a text about a friend or a relative following the model.
