Getting to Know Your Students: Intuition Game
You can use this game either to get to know the students in your first lesson, or to revise present tenses. How to play: you choose one volunteer to come to the black-board, he/she brings one slip of paper (there are three types of tasks: translate from Russian, make a question using the verb in brackets or correct one mistake) reads the correct question and turns away. Then other students silently answer in groups or in pairs. The answer is always yes or no. When the question has been discussed they ask the student to turn back and guess what were their answers. The student points to each person in the group and makes guesses. After it the teacher should count the mistakes he/she has made. I asked my students to raise their hands if the student made a mistake. In the end of the game you sum up the results and applause to the winner or winners.
