I used this beautiful song, "Simple Math," to review the grammar of second conditionals (imaginary situations). I also removed rhyming words and asked students to fill-in-the-blanks with the words from the box. I specifically explained that in the case of verbs, they needed to use the appropriate tense of imaginary situations. As the lyrics have "was" instead of "were," I took advantage to explain differences between prescriptive grammar, and what people actually use in daily speech (descriptive grammar). Finally, I allowed my students to discuss the questions in the last section.
