3rd conditionals making excuses.Duration: 10 - 15 minutes.Preparation: Print out this sheet. Aims: Fluency with the target expressions. Repeat the exercise for as many weeks as is necessary to achieve fluency. Procedure: Tell the students that they are going to have to make up excuses using the past conditional. Give them an example and show them how to make the excuse. Teacher: Why didn’t you do any homework? Student: I would have done my homework if I had had more time. The students have to come up with an excuse which explains why they did or didn’t do a particular thing. Use the examples below or make up your own.
