Song Worksheet: Stay Another Day by East 17 (WITH VIDEO)
This one of my favourite songs from the 90s, despite it being from a boy band. The song is slow and the words clearly sung, so useful for a fun esl class. Here's my lesson plan:

1. Hand out the worksheets. Create a discussion with the first two questions. Brainstorm, 'Boy Band', on the board and elicit band names, adjectives and descriptions to create interest in the topic and song.

2. Play the first part of the track, and ask the students to complete task 1. Continue this with subsequent tasks. Task 2 will require you to play one line of the song and pause to allow the students to complete the task successfully.

3. Put students into groups and ask them to rewrite the chorus using their own ideas. This may require you to give your own example. Have groups sing their rewritten choruses.

4. Discuss the song and boy bands in their own country.

Optional expansion activities.
1. Comprehension task using a short biography about East 17.
2. Write an essay about a boy band in your country.
3. Translate a boy band song from your country.
4. (If your class are young and motivated) Create a dance routine to the East 17 song and show next lesson.
