There are some patterns (groups of letters) that students can remember and these will help their reading. Here are some: the group 'oo' = pronounced /u the group 'ee' =pronounced /i/ the group 'ea' =pronounced /i/, as well, ...a.o. Students will be impressed they are able to READ so many words just by remembering a simple rule. They will also know how to WRITE words when they hear them.
