Building an extensive vocabulary is essential to learning and becoming fluent in a new language. Learning synonyms and Antonyms are great ways to help students quickly expand their vocabulary. Synonyms And Antonyms Worksheets For Elementary And Pre Intermediate Students. 


Synonym Match - In this worksheet, students must match the word on the left with the synonym on the right by drawing a line. The student gets 1 point for each correct word. The worksheet has 11 words. 


Vocabulary Grade 2/3 - This four-part worksheet is geared towards grade 2 - 3 students and features a word search, crossword puzzle, vocabulary words, and sentence cloze. 

Vocabulary Grade4/5 - This vocabulary worksheet is geared towards Grade 4- 5 students. The vocabulary worksheet comes in a set for four and features fun activities such as word search, crossword puzzle, vocabulary words, and sentence cloze.

Synonymic Pairs - This worksheet is designed for intermediate students. In this worksheet, students must match the words in column one with the synonyms in column two. The student must then translate the word in their native language in column three. 


Appearance and Personality Activities (with Pronunciation) - This twenty-one slide PowerPoint is designed for students in the 7th grade. The worksheet helps students build vocabulary by introducing adjectives, synonyms, and antonyms. The document includes five activities. The first of which, the student must try to identify the subject based on the clue to their physical appearance. Students must find the correct synonym and antonym of the words provided in activity four and five of the worksheet. 


Taboo Speaking Game Basic - This is one that many students thoroughly enjoy. The rules of the game are simple. One student is asked to sit in front of the class with his/her back towards the PowerPoint presentation so that he/she can’t see the slides. The rest of the class can give clues to the student to help him guess the word. Classmates can make use of synonyms to help him/her guess correctly. 


Synonyms and Antonyms - This worksheet is ideal for elementary students. It contains two activities. The first of which, students must match words to their corresponding synonyms and antonyms. The second activity is a T/F reading comprehension exercise. 


Synonyms - Antonyms Worksheet - This worksheet is a multiple choice quiz designed to test elementary level students. It is divided into two sections with eleven questions on synonyms and twelve on antonyms.
