Sporting Combinations
A lesson for upper-primary school students (or maybe very new secondary school students) at elementary or pre-intermediate levels, acting as an extension activity after studying a unit on sport. Students read about some new sports which contain elements of more traditional ones. After extracting information about rules, equipment etc from these texts, they then work in pairs or groups to create their own brand new sport. Finally, they deliver a short presentation to the class, telling them all about their ideas - how to play, how to win, necessary equipment etc. Notes for teachers and an answer key are provided.
