I used an idea of a warm-up and created a list of random nouns that should give you and your students a lot of help in creative speaking activities. The list is random enough to be used in many exercises. My favourites are: 1. (Very popular) a student picks one noun and start a story, next person continuous the story with the next piece of paper etc.. 2. In a group that should practice describing words in English, students pick a card and try to explain their card. 3. (for more advanced) Students in small groups (2-3), pick roles (mother and a child/ ghost-buster and a police officer etc.), and then they draw 4,5 nouns. You give a situation and the students talk about the things they picked staying in the characters.
