This is the way I register everyday students' work. At the beginning of the academic year I give each of my students a smilie chart where they will draw a smilie face everytime they have done the homework. The more smilie faces the more points they get. I also give them three homework passes. The homework passes are like a vaucher they can use for not getting a negative point when they haven't done their work.
