I use this as an extra credit possibility for my students. Students choose a recent event and prepare an oral presentation of it (news flash - in depth look etc...) They can use note cards, but are not to read. They also should have either a power point presentation to accompagny their report and can really try to get into playing the newscaster (suit, tie, wig?). I have a microphone that I lend them during the presentation.
