This is a very simple activity. Tell the students to imagine they went to a party the night before. Working in pairs, students should ask each other questions about the party, using to be in the past form. Here is the idea:
"Your friend went to a party last night. Ask how the party was, who was at the party, ask questions about the decoration, the dance, the guests, and the food."
