This is a funny activity for intermediate students. Put the students in pairs (Student A, Student B) Give Student A a card (like those below). The card includes some expressions Student A must use. Student B starts a conversation: giving news, explaining a story, etc. (for example, “my cat died yesterday”) And Student A has to answer using the expressions in the card. If the conversation is incoherent, Student B has to change its topic or approach.
