A challenging poetry lesson for advanced level students based on the poem by Liz Lochhead. Students read the poem to ascertain the writer's general attitude, look more closely at some of the vocabulary and then learn about some basic poetic techniques. This was written as a Valentine's Day lesson but could be used more generally in a unit on love or relationships. Notes for teachers and answer key are included.
